Save & Restore your hair with Arrojo

It’s no secret that I have color treated hair, and with color treated hair comes damage, especially when you lighten your hair. Which with creative color, I definitely lighten first and maybe a little too often than what my hair can actually handle. So I want to be sure that I’m using products that will A. Safe my color and B. Restore my hair to a healthy state. That’s where these ARROJO products come in. I’ve been trying out the ARROJO Color Save Shampoo & Conditioner.

"For anyone with applied hair color, color save helps to get the most bang for your buck. It locks in vibrancy, preserves shine, meaning color lasts longer. I recommend it for all my color clients.

James (Stylist, ARROJO studio)"

When I look for a shampoo, I want it to be lightweight, there is nothing worse than being able to feel the shampoo on your hair for days afterwards weighing it down. I also need for it to be color-safe. The shampoo offers a color safe formula, provides shine and some extra smoothness. I really enjoyed this shampoo. You get a nice, rich lather and a subtle floral scent.

"Aside from great color protection, this conditioner gives improved body, more elasticity, and increased smoothness. I also love the linden-blossom fragrance, which is terrific to soothe and de-stress.

Ashley (Stylist, ARROJO studio)"

On to the conditioner, they say that it’s vitamin charged and that’s what helps lock the vibrancy into your color-treated hair. It also adds moisture, and helps to detangler. I found that while I was using this particular conditioner, my need for a leave-in was non-existent. It doesn’t weigh your hair down at all and leaves your hair soft and shiny.

In the styling department from ARROJO, I’ve been using their Healing Oil, Restorative Glossing Spray. And absolutely loving it.

"The same oils that make this product a health-giving wonder also make it a super-styler. Sunflower oils soften hair, adds delightful patina; Jojoba oils penetrate the hair follicle, which plumps the hair shaft by amping volume and body; and babassu oils are a scintillating emollient, bringing suppleness and shine to every style.

Claire (Stylist, ARROJO NYC)"

I love that you can use this product on wet or dry hair. This spray is filled with precious oils, so it helps to nourish damaged hair. Speeds up dry time when you’re doing a blow out and adds body and texture to your straight hair. I’ve used it for everyday hairstyles.

Color Save Shampoo & Conditioner

Interestingly enough, the Arrojo Color Save Shampoo and Conditioner, often the most overlooked and simple steps in any hair care routine, were two of my top three favorites. The shampoo has a somewhat runnier feel than many thicker textured shampoos out there, but a little went a long way. What impressed me most was the fact that using the shampoo alone was hydrating enough such that my hair wasn’t plagued with static at the end of the day. The color in my hair also felt more vibrant and luminous, unlike the dull look some other shampoos may leave. Add the conditioner, which is incredibly moisturizing, and you’re good to go. Dare I say, no need for additional products even! The only thing to note is that these products are not sulfate-free, for those who are wary of this ingredient (more on this another day). Otherwise, these are sure fire winners!

Overall, I’m so glad to have discovered Arrojo hair products. The high quality of everything in the line is apparent in just the first use, and given the founder is Nick Arrojo himself, the eponymous product line certainly lives up to the name. I’m ready to conquer all types of weather with his products now. Summer humidity – bring it on!
